GP Question

A sequence is 0.5, 1, 2, 4...

What is the 13th term? What is the ratio (r) used?

7 comments:

  1. first we need to find the common ratio(r)
    to find this put take a term in the sequenceand divide it by the previous term.
    r = 1/0.5 or 4/2
    both answers will give two.

    the 13 term will be
    13th term = a(^n-1)
    = 0.5(2^12)
    = 2048

  3. 0.5, 1, 2, 4...

    the 13 term is a( ^n -1 )

    = 0.5 (2 ^ 12)

    = 2048

    the common ratio r is 2 /1 = 2
