What is a number

Why is numbers important?
Explain from life how number can be used to increase, decrease, group, share and compare.
What is a fraction?
How will the world be if it had no fractions?
How will the world be if it had no whole numbers?
How will the world be if it had no negative numbers?

  6. numbers are important because without them,we won't have anything to represent quantities and without quantities,we can't make calculations...an without calculations mankind would not have progress in life, yet again survive...think about it...numbers play a huge part in our life...for starters....think about when the cave men had to hunt 4 food...think about how numbers apply there...

  10. Materials such a bridges,cars,houses,planes and cell phones would not of been able to be customized to someones need if fractions did not exist. Everything would have to be built but not to the customers needs and joy.

  11. If the world had no negative numbers we would not be able to calculate an object when falling or descending,we would be able to calculate the distance moving left or south(backwards), we would not be able to calculate speed when reversing and temperature when it is getting colder.

  13. A number is a numerical value which can be used to determine the amount of an object, for what ever purpose, We use numbers in everyday life weather we realise it or not, if it is to count money to our age.
