Trigs is based on ratios of line from a right angle triangle.
Draw the following
sin x = 3/5
cos m = 4/7
tan m = 3/ 4
sin m = 3 / 8
cos x = 5 / 8
tan x = 5 / 7

first write formula to find angle; sin=opp/hyp
ReplyDeletesin x=3/5
x=the inverse of sin(3/5)
x= 36.9 degrees
length of the adjacent cosx=adj/hyp
degrees given
cos36.9degrees=adj/5
5cos36.9=adj
therefore adj=4
first write formula to find angle;cos=adj/hyp
ReplyDeletecosm=4/7
m=cos inverse 4/7
m=55.2 degrees
length of the opposite;sin=opp/hyp
sin55.2=opp/7
7sin55.2=opp
therefore opposite=5.7
first write formula to find angle;tan=opp/adj
ReplyDeletetan m=3/4
m=tan inverse 3/4
m=36.9 degrees
length of hyp;cos angle=adj/hyp
cos 36.9=4/hyp
.8=4/hyp
hyp(0.8)=4
hyp=4/0.8
hyp=5
First write formula to find angle;sin=opp/hyp
ReplyDeletesin m = 3/8
m= sin inverse of 3/8
m= 22 degrees
length of adj;cos= adj/hyp
cos 22 =adj/8
8cos22 = adj
7.4 = adj
First write the the formula to find angle;cos=opp/hyp
ReplyDeletecosx=5/8
x=cos inverse of 5/8
x= 51.3 degrees
length of opposite
sin=opp/hyp
sin51.3=opp/8
8sin51.3=opp
opp =6.2
First write the formula to find the angle; tan angle=opp/adj
ReplyDeletetanx=5/7
x= tan inverse 5/7
x= 35.5 degrees
length of hyp; sin angle=opp/hyp
sin35.5=5/hyp
hyp(0.6)=5
hyp=5/0.6
therefore length of hypothenuse=8.33
sin x = 3/5
ReplyDeleteto find the angle sin x = opp/hy
sin inverse of (3/5)=36.87 degrees
now that a angle is obtained the lenght can be found the lenght cam be found by saying
cos x = adj/hyp
cos 36.87 = adj / 5
cos 36.87 * 5 = adj
4.0 is the lenght of the adj side
i agree with star
ReplyDeletewel you guys beat me to the questions, star i give u ur props daky and captian also, u all know your stuff.
ReplyDeleteit was wel layed out and i underestood everything easily, on the bright side i don't have to rack my head on it,lol
using our knowledge of trigs given the following formulas sinx= o/h cosx= a/h tanx= o/a
ReplyDeletefirst find the value of the number of times one lenght can go into another and then find the inverse of the given function to find the angle.
substitute the found angle into the appropriate equations to find the length required.
