What does a straight line of distance against time mean?
What does a straight line of velocity against time mean?
A general equation for a straight line is
y = mx + c
Does all straight lines have to be written in this form?
From a straight line equation, the gradient is one of the most important thing
to determine. Explain how the gradient is determine form the following lines.
- y = 6x + 3
- y = -12x + 5
- y = 2x - 6
- 2y = 5x + 3
- 3y = - 4x + 1
- 2y + x = 7
- 3y + 5x = 11
- 2y - 4x = 7
- 4y + 3x + 2 = 0
- 2y -3x + 5 = 0
A straight line is going from point A to B without any bends.
ReplyDeleteA straight line against distance and time means going from point A to point B in a straight line within a certain time, [Speed]
velocity is the rate in change of position of an object against time
A straight is a line that has a starting and a ending point but no curvatures
ReplyDeleteA straight line of distance aganist time means that as time increase distance may increase.
ReplyDeleteA straight line of velocity against time means that velocity increases with time.
ReplyDeleteAll the equation is not written in that form but can be manipulated to be brought into that form.
ReplyDeleteVELOCITY: firstly its a vector quainty which means it has both magnitude and direction. the magintude of velocity which is speed.
ReplyDeletenote:(this speed can be constant or accelerated) This velocity is found by dividing the distance covered by the time taken to travel this distance.
if a car is accelerating the car velocity (vector) changes per unit of time..
In geometry a line is a straight curve. When geometry is used to model the real world lines are used to represent straight objects with negligible width and height.Lines are an idealization of such objects and have no width or height at all and are usually considered to be infinitely long.
ReplyDeleteREFERENCE; Wikipedia
Staight line distance against time can be defined by saying distance travelled by time taken in a constant speed.
ReplyDeleteStraight line velocity against time is the speed the object moved at a certain time.
ReplyDeleteThe equation of a line is; y=mx+c
ReplyDeleteFormula for gradiant= y2-y1/x2-x1
what is Y=Mx+C?
ReplyDeleteX and Y :are the cordinates of the points that satisfy the function which lines on the straight line graph.
M: is the gradient of the straight line graph.note(gradient is a number that represents the steepness of a line)
C: is the 'Y intercept' of the straight line graph.
solution no.1
ReplyDeletey=6x+3
vertical (Y)intercept: 3
gradient: 6
working:- when x=0 , when y=0
y=6(0)+3 0=6x+3
y=3& x=0 -3=6x
-3/6=x
-0.5=x & y=0
therefore:(0,3)& (-0.5,0)
using: y2-y1/x2-x1
0-3/-0.5-0=6
gradient =6
solution no.2
ReplyDeletey = -12x+5
vertical (Y) intercept= 5
gradient= 0-5/.42-0=-12
gradient= -12.
solution no.3
y = 2x-6
vertical (y) intercept: -6
gradient= 0-(-6)/3-0= 2
gradient=2
solution no 4
ReplyDelete2y = 5x+3
y= 5x/2 + 3/2
y= 2.5x + 1.5
gradient= 2.5
y intercept= 1.5
solution 5
ReplyDelete3y = -4x + 1
y= -4/3x + 1/3
gradient= -4/3
y intercept= 1/3
solution 6
2y + x = 7
2y = -1x + 7
gradient= -1
y intercept= 7
solution 7
3y + 5x=11
3y = -5x + 11
y = -5x/3 + 11/3
y = -5/3x + 3.7
gradient= -5/3
y intercept= 11
CORRECTION!!
ReplyDeletesolution 6
2Y + X = 7
2Y = -1X + 7
y = -1x/2 + 7/2
gradient= -1/2
y intercept= 3.5
solution 8
ReplyDelete2Y - 4X = 7
2Y= 4X+7
Y = 4X/2 + 7/2
Y= 2X + 3.5
so
gradient: 2
y intercept: 3.5
solution 9
ReplyDelete4Y+ 3X+ 2= 0
4Y = -3X-2
Y = -3X/4 -2/4
Y = -3/4X - 0.5
gradient= -3/4.
y intercept= -0.5
solution 10
2y-3x+5= 0
2y= 3x -5
y= 3x/2- 5/2
y= 1.5x- 2.5
gradient= 1.5
y intercep= -2.5
A straight line can be defined as starting at point A & traced by traveling in a constant direction to and end point B with zero curvature.
ReplyDeleteA straight line of distance aganist time means that as distance increases time increases.
A straight line of velocity against time means that velocity increases time increases.
Yes, all straight lines have to be written in the form y=mx+c.
waaay boi weez yuh hog up all the questions, but thanks for the demonstration either way.lol it was pretty clear and underestandable!
ReplyDeletelol let me get some questions..
ReplyDelete1. y = 4x + 10
ReplyDelete2. y = 7x - 9
3. y = 2x + 5
4. 5y = 7x + 32
5. 7y = 8x - 45
6. 3y = 15 - 7x
7. 2y + 8 + 3x = 0
8. 1000y + 23 + 923x = 0
9 12x - y + 1600 = 0
10. 10y = 1240x - 1
all yours
A straight line is a line in which is drawn from one point to another in one specific direction without any change in direction.
ReplyDeletea straight line of distance against time means a distance covered from point A to point B in a certain period of time.
a straight line of velocity against time means the acceleration or velocity increases with time.
This formula is not the only formula for a straight line, it has otheer formulas that eventually leads up to that form.
A stright line is a line drawn fom an initial point to another point or infinity without any curvertures.
ReplyDeleteA straight line of distance against distance means that as time changes the distance covered also changes, this is also referred to as speed
ReplyDeleteA straight line of velocity against time shows the acceleration.
